Watch out for a travel piece in What’s On in the coming months. Also may be taking part in a rather bizarre but interesting experiment. Watch this space.
There is nothing better than waking up on a Friday morning and discovering this gem. It starts off as incoherent gibberish about technology:

And finishes up as incoherent gibberish about technology (and Zionism):

And Israel’s powerful friends with their deep pockets and clout on the Capitol hill are beginning to realise this.”
Makes perfect sense. The Wall Street Journal are looking for a new op-ed columnist…
A dream has been realised and I have been published in the Somaliland Times. It’s only a re-print, but better than nothing. It is also where I am planning on going next via Djibouti to write a piece on the quasi-country. Also check here (on page 38) for my latest piece in CNN Traveller on Kuwait.
Edit: Just remembered this farce. If you are not going to write properly about a subject, don’t write anything at all.
Came across this rather nice magazine online. Brilliant cover further illustrating why simplicity trumps all else on magazine covers. If you want your magazine to survive, make it beautiful. Will try and get a piece published in this, just so I get a copy sent to me. Check this month’s issue of CNN Traveller for a piece on Kuwait and April’s Esquire ME for a travel piece on Nepal.
Our new project URBN got a mention on the best evening radio news show last week. Eamonn spoke about why what we are doing makes sense and some future plans. There is also an interview with him about URBN in this Friday’s Irish Times.
If you get a chance to pick up Communicate this month, I have written two pieces: one on Emirates’ and Ethihad’s use of sports marketing and a piece on a local PR firm who are sponsoring a Dubai-based rally driver. Managed to get Hunter S. Thompson and Playboy mentioned in the intro which is nice.
Was in Kuwait last month and have written two pieces about the place – one for the January/February issue of CNN Traveller and one for HK Magazine.
Another piece on Dubai for the foreign media, this time concentrating on the island of Ireland, on the now empty The World development.
Did a piece a whileback for CNN Traveller magazine on Dubai’s new(ish) Metro. Not hugely impressed, but let’s wait until it is actually finished. There is one stop right outside my apartment which will make life a lot easier. Also finished a piece for the Irish Times today, will be in Saturday’s paper.
Two pieces recently published – an article on Dubai for the UK Independent and a piece on the Dubai Metro for CNN Traveller. Piece on seduction conference in Vegas will be coming out in various media very soon – watch this space…
